Richard Terry
is a Filmmaker, Cameraman, Adventurer, Writer & TV Presenter.
Currently starring in Nat Geo Wild's Man v Monster Richard Terry has made 9 x 1hr entertaining, action packed, gritty adventure & travel wildlife episodes. The new hit series premiered in the US October 2012 and will be transmitted globally both on Nat Geo Wild & National Geographic channels in December 2012. Richard journeyed to the world's most hostile territories to unearth the truth behind mystifying legends and bring the audience face to face with terrifying yet fascinating creatures.
As an already well-established BBC film unit-trained lighting cameraman, his on-screen career began in 2009 with the compelling and emotional six-part series Stranger Among Bears. Self shooting, Richard helped to drive the story as an integral part of the films. For six months he lived with Charlie Vandergaw, a 70 year old recluse in the Alaskan interior and the company of wild Black & Grizzly Bears. He single-handedly directed, photographed, recorded sound and narrated this internationally successful Animal Planet series.
Richard returned the following year as lone immersive filmmaker to a more remote area of Alaska, Katmai National Park - chillingly named 'The Grizzly Maze' by the late Timothy Treadwell. Richard was based in a tiny lightweight tent in the midst of dozens of giant Coastal Brown Bears, to record and produce his next project Alone Among Grizzlies, broadcast worldwide on Animal Planet, Discovery & receiving exceptional viewing figures for Channel 5 UK. He made the film entirely using solar power.

Richard has caught the attention of numerous international production companies who recognise a niche in the documentary market for a charismatic and honest filmmaker with both drama & documentary backgrounds, who can quickly adapt to living in wild and hostile environments. Returning, not without scars and diseases, with moving and beautifully filmed yet raw and engaging programmes.
His personal skills, vulnerability and warmth are of huge benefit when attempting to bring out on screen, the full potential and depth of character from those he is filming.
In autumn 2012 Richard appeared as a popular guest presenter on the Alan Titchmarsh Show for ITV1 giving photography tips on location and live studio.
Richard co-hosted both the Wildscreen Film festival's 2012 Panda Awards & Wildtalk Africa's 2011 ROSCA Awards ceremonies.
Richard is a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society.
