Douglas Lyon: Line Producer, Field Producer and founder of Excelman Productions.

We are Producers, Production Managers, Line Producers, Field Producers, Journalists and Directors! We have 20 years of experience in more than 50 different countries, with an incredible network of contacts, and reliable veteran staff in each country! We have come to be known as "Africa specialists", but actually we began with Fashion and News, then Variety shows and Reality Shows, and although we love it all, but we must confess a particular passion for Broadcast News, Documentaries, and... well, you guessed it: Africa! The primary vocation of Excelman Productions ranges from the complete production to simply the logistic management and co-ordination, of a wide spectrum of primarily audio-visual projects in video or film: hard news, documentaries, live satellite broadcasts, variety shows, reality shows, sports events, TV films, commercials, etc. In just a few years, after many prestigious shoots all over France, Europe and two dozen African nations (a total of more than 50 different countries), EXCELMAN Productions has become a privileged partner of all of the major Japanese television networks and production companies as well as the most prominent advertising agencies. Need a crew to tell your story? A Producer? Director? A Journalist? Contact Us! We work extensively throughout Europe and Africa and we would be delighted to suggest cost effective solutions in order to achieve results above and beyond your hopes and expectations!

As concerns the wildlife film genre, strangely we have not done any! It is a mystery, but given our extensive experience in Africa, it would be very easy for us to handle the logistics of such projects, which is why I thought that Wildlife-Film.com might be good for us... We have, of course, for many of our Africa projects, tracked and filmed wild animals, and have a good idea of the difficulties involved... but we have never worked on a project dedicated strictly to the “Wildlife” theme... Yet!

Richard Brock worked in the BBC Natural History Unit for 35 years producing, among others, the highly successful Life on Earth and Living Planet series. Concerned by the lack of willingness to address the real current state of the environment he left the BBC and started his own independent production company Living Planet Productions.

"These days it's simply not good enough to use the old response... "If people know about it they'll care for it and do something". Wrong. They'll just go on being conned that it's all perfect out there, with endless jungles, immaculate Masai Maras, and untouched oceans. What planet are they on about?"

Richard Brock and Living Planet Productions have made over 100 films on a wide range of environmental topics, shown all over the world. As his archive of films and footage mounted up, Richard felt that there was something more, better, that could be done with this resource.

"When you consider the miles of footage and thousands of programs sitting in vaults out there unused, it seems tragic that the very wonders they celebrate are dwindling, often because no one tells the locals and tries to help. That is why I believe its Payback Time for the wildlife television."

Richard went on to set up the Brock Initiative so that he could try to make a difference, and today Living Planet Productions and the Brock Initiative strive to do just that, together!

We are a company specialized in underwater filming (and photography) in all kind of environments. Rui Guerra, the key person behind it, has more than 30 years experience as a diver and more than 20 years in underwater image.

From underwater caves, rivers, lakes, under the ice, reefs and coastal seas, off-shore marine wildlife and deepwater environments, we can film where is needed.

We use specialized underwater housings for our work from top brands to have 100% control of our cameras, including our main cinema RED Weapon camera.

We also have several autonomous underwater lighting systems to bring you the full colors from any scene.

We use a closed-circuit rebreather to stay longer, deeper, safer and without noise or bubbles to disturb marine life. Of course, that we also have regular scuba equipment and we can also free dive to capture fast ocean action, like whales and dolphins.

Besides underwater filming and photography, underwater time-lapse is also one of our specialities.

The team have worked for years to gain access into highly sensitive areas across Africa aswell as work with the best researchers and scientists in the continent's wildest places.

Their two independent films to date are 'STROOP - journey into the rhino horn war' and 'KINGDOMS of FIRE, ICE & FAIRYTALES'. Selected for 35 film festivals, the critically acclaimed STROOP has gone on to win 30 awards globally. KINGDOMS was released in December 2020.

Critically acclaimed 'STROOP - journey into the rhino horn war' premiered at the San Francisco Green Film Festival in September 2018 after 4 years of filming. The film has since been selected for 35 film festivals winning 30 international awards. The film is available digitally and on DVD and has been broadcast around the world in 7 languages. See 'STROOP - journey into the rhino horn war' official website: www.stroop-film.com

'Kingdoms of Fire, Ice & Fairytales' is the second film by Bonné de Bod and Susan Scott. KINGDOMS is a departure for the duo from their investigative filmmaking as they look at iconic wildernesses in three locations: Yellowstone National Park in America; the Black Forest in Germany; and the Arctic Circle in Swedish Lapland. Originally planned as a television series, COVID brought the filming to a halt and the filmmakers had to adapt and even included the COVID storyline into the film to bring relevance to our searching for a way forward in these new times.

Sound Off Films was founded in 2014 by Annie Costner and Adrienne Hall, who met while producing a documentary about the oceans.

They lived together as roommates in a basement apartment in Boulder, Colorado. While Annie slept on a chaise lounge in the ‘living room,’ and both women opted for night hikes over the bustling CU undergrad scene, the two bonded over natural history production, advocacy communication, and good old fashioned storytelling.

SOUNDOFF was born of this time together in the mountains and on the sea. Implicit in our communication is the intention that our audiences to stand up, and sound off.

Take your shoes off Productions is an independent film company based in Sweden and Norway. We do not make films or exhibitions for people to enjoy them and then continue their everyday life afterwards. We make films to inspire people to get up, go outside and explore.

The company was founded by Grethe Hillersöy and Tony Meyer in 2013.

Grethe studied marine biology and natural resource management in Australia and Norway. After having worked several years as research assistant, wildlife guide and a nature interpreter she decided to go full-time with wildlife film making and nature interpretation through film and photo.

Tony has a very varied background, including work in the Swedish Search and Rescue Society, dive instructor, guide and boat driver at Orca safaris, Svalbard guide and dog sledge musher. Tony has worked as a professional photographer since 2001, and this is today his full-time occupation.

We can provide footage on land, underwater and from the air, using our own equipment and experience.

Carl is a successful TV entrepreneur with more than 30 years experience in production, production finance and distribution. Prior to setting up Warehouse 51 Productions, he was managing director of Sky Vision, which he set up after selling his previous company Parthenon Entertainment to Sky.

Carl founded Parthenon more than a decade ago as a producer and distributor of factual programming, where he produced and executive produced more than 600 hours of programming, including Mystery files, the Wild series and the Secret History of the Freemasons. Under his leadership, the company became one of the UK’s leading independent TV media groups, with production and sales offices in Bristol, Canada and Munich, as well as London.

Carl sold Parthenon to Sky in July 2012 and spent over a year successfully integrating and rebranding Parthenon into Sky Vision to turn it into a high-class distribution and production outfit and helping it expand its programming portfolio into drama, comedy and entertainment, including Sky 1’s New Year drama Moonfleet with Ray Winstone.

At Warehouse 51, Hall plans to house, fund and nurture production talent in the UK and to produce high-quality factual and factual entertainment formats.

Westcountry Wildlife is a small promotional outfit working in the Somerset & Devon area.

We currently produce small promotional videos for the Somerset Wildlife Trust.

We are currently working on a documentary on the Bridgwater & Taunton Canal in Somerset regarding the history, modern use and changing wildlife that can be discovered as you journey along its route. The work in process can be seen on our YouTube. We are in the process of pitching this idea to larger production companies to help get this to television.

We have also worked alongside Michael Jordan (former presenter) on a fungi special for the Somerset Wildlife Trust and covered the Exmoor Pony Round Up in detail. We currently sell our own brand of wildlife programmes on DVD via our website, amazon and local outlets. Our website's guestbook page shows just how popular these are.

If your looking for a local presenter then look no further.

LB Loxleys presenting style has been praised by Steven Moss (former BBC producer).

For your small scale promotions, website clips etc, give us a call.
